With just under 6,000 square feet of modern prairie design, it’s easy to see why this contemporary Fiechtner Construction home won the 2017 Spring Parade of Homes™ Award of Excellence. With six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and countless upgrades, Fiechtner has built a Sonoran oasis in urban Sioux Falls.
Breathtaking is an understatement for the stunning roof pitch design and low inclines, giving the home a clean, modern look. A mix of white and cream stucco with a waterfall finish gives the home a soft look, while stacked stone balances structure with the natural landscape surrounding the entrance and half-circle drive. Glass panels surround stately double doors of rich wood and chrome inlays, welcoming friends and family inside.
Once inside, you are surrounded by natural light from the wall of windows and sliders in the modern living area. Luxury tile resembles hardwood and runs throughout the home. Floor-to-ceiling marble surrounds the television and fireplace and features built-in glass display shelves. A 99-inch fan circulates throughout the living space. Neutral colored walls and thick white millwork allow the decorative accents and textures of the room to pop, like the stacked stone accent wall that brings the outdoor elements in.
Through double sliding glass doors, Fiechtner Construction has brought the relaxed elegance of some far-off destination to the backyard. A salt water pool with infinity edge is surrounded by decorative stamped concrete, gas fire bowls and all the comforts of an exotic resort. Next to the in-ground spa is a covered cabana with television, a stainless fire feature for cool evenings, and an outdoor kitchen. Homeowners can relax and enjoy the amenities of a high-end resort right in their own backyard.
For inside gatherings, the large living area transitions into an entertaining kitchen any home chef would love. Black stainless steel appliances including a refrigerator with computer, a gas range and special order hood, and microwave drawer, all seemingly disappear against the gorgeous ceiling-high bamboo cabinets with upper rain glass doors and chic hardware. Grey subway tile backsplash and patterned marble countertops give a hint of color to the gourmet kitchen. An L-shaped island with sink allows for storage, prep and seating. The dining room sits off the kitchen, providing a gorgeous view of the backyard.
To further bring the outside in and keep the pool clutter centralized, Fiechtner Construction smartly created a side entrance from the pool and cabana into a bedroom suite. The full bathroom showcases a bamboo floating vanity, slab marble tiles, mosaic tile floor and stone accents. Another bedroom, currently used as a home office, is also located on this side of the home.
Refinement and relaxation describes the master suite of this Fiechtner Construction home. Electric blinds give privacy, yet allow light in from large windows surrounding the bedroom. Sliding glass doors provide a private entrance to the outdoor entertaining area. In full pampering style, the suite has three walk-in closets with custom bamboo built-ins. The master bathroom is a stunning space with heated slab marble flooring, a luxurious soaking tub and pebbled paned windows. The double-door glassed-in shower features slab marble walls and a stone inlay accent. Floating his and hers bamboo vanities provide plenty of space for the homeowners.
Fiechtner Construction has left no detail unattended to, including the garage. With over 1,500 square feet of space in the garage, they built a man’s oasis. Able to easily fit four vehicles, the garage floor is heated and rubber coated. Oversized garage doors accommodate tall vehicles and feature remote access. Natural light shines through transom windows above the garage doors, brightening up the entire space. A kitchen sits to the side of the parking area, complete with blue cabinets and granite countertops. The garage leads to the backyard for added entertainment space, or inside to the laundry room and drop zone.
Twelve-foot commercial windows with tempered glass gleam in the staircase, allowing maximum light in the entrance and stairs to the upper level of the home. The upstairs space has been flawlessly designed for function, and is a perfect place to dedicate to the kids. A lounge loft area leads out to a private covered balcony and separates two guest bedroom suites, each with their own balcony access and a full bathroom.
And while the children have their own space, so do the adults. The basement is an entertainer’s dream. A stacked stone bar with granite top sits in the middle of the open space and easily seats five. Bamboo cabinets, some with rain glass panels, line the opposite wall giving extra countertop space as well as storage. Just to the side is a pool table area, a half bath, and a utility room. A wine cellar, located under the concrete porch, can be used as a shelter. A large theater room, a craft room, and two bedroom suites round out the lower level of this custom home.
Fiechtner Construction combined a thoughtful, functional plan and comfortable upgrades to create a custom masterpiece. With modern sensibility, Fiechtner Construction is truly raising the bar for Sioux Empire home building.
