As you approach this 2017 Spring Parade Award-winning townhome, simplistic elegance meets you in the driveway. Located on the southeast side of Sioux Falls, the two-bedroom, two-bath property is a beautiful place to call home. Earthy dry stack stone and faux cedar shake side cover the home, creating an inviting look. A stone column near the front door guides guests inside the 1,800-square-foot home built by Darren and Lisa Blair of Blair Masonry Homes. Darren specializes in slab-on-grade high-end townhomes accompanied by stunning masonry details. Lisa focuses on the interior design details using high-quality finishes.
Upon entering the front door, you are greeted by a gorgeous contemporary chandelier. White floor-to-ceiling cabinets accented by glass demand attention. The custom cabinets can be lit, showcasing important family heirlooms and favorite trinkets.
Continue through the home, and the great room welcomes you with a large open-concept floorplan. A tray ceiling sits above, artistically sectioned off by two Dark Cherry stained beams. The dark color complements the focal point of the great room – a nine-foot tall all-natural stone fireplace. Light in color, the natural stone is accented with the abundance of natural light, creating a sophisticated and elegant ambiance.
Just off the great room and entryway sit the guest bedroom and bath. Dark French doors creatively separate this area from the rest of the home. Recessed lighting, a contemporary ceiling fan and a tray ceiling ensure this is an elegant retreat for any guest. A large walk-in closet finishes off this secluded space.
A linen closet separates the guest bath and bedroom, offering abundant storage in this townhome. Granite countertops in the bathroom feature a calming mix of neutral and dark accents and rest on dark cabinetry. Oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and ceramic tile complement the simple industrial pendants that hang above the vanity.
Entering the kitchen, the contrast of colors once again draws you in. Dark custom cabinets, complete with crown molding, pop against the painted white island base and professional stainless steel appliances. A stylish undermount sink and elegant pendant lights create a custom kitchen any chef would look forward to cooking in. Additional kitchen storage is cleverly hidden in the custom walk-in pantry.
A spacious dining area sits near the kitchen. An oversized bay window and a contemporary white chandelier offer the perfect amount of light for the comfortable space. An abundance of light is present in the sitting area, with large windows and recessed lighting adding to the brightly-lit room. The blank canvas is perfect for a separate TV, office or library. Without doors, it is open but still separate from the main living area. Continuing through the great room, a patio door grants access to the backyard and cement patio. The space is ideal for a small garden or beautiful summer flowers.
French doors welcome you again, this time as you enter the master suite. A white-trimmed tray ceiling and large vertical windows give this master bedroom a larger-than-life feel. With plush neutral carpet and dark trim throughout, it is simple and luxurious. A large walk-in closet brings in wood flooring from the great room, and ties the master in with the rest of the home. Make your way to the master bath and you will be greeted by a dual sink vanity with granite countertops and counter-to-ceiling mirrors. Oil-rubbed bronze fixtures pair nicely with the chic white undermount sinks and cabinetry. A large walk-in tiled shower and heated ceramic flooring complete this master retreat. A laundry room is adjacent to the master suite, making convenience a priority in this low-maintenance, elegant townhome.
Many tones of trim and cabinetry stand out, and complement the spaces they inhibit so well. From the Dark Cherry trim in the kitchen to the white and faint brown in the entryway and great room, this design is the essence of simplistic elegance. Ample natural light and a comfortable layout completes this home, making it the perfect place to relax.
